For the first time, transHAL took place digitally this year and we were there: At the joint Innovation Day of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the city of Halle (Saale) on November 10, we were allowed to present our innovations and our team as part of a spotlight presentation. Despite digital distance, we aroused great interest among the participants and had great and inspiring conversations.

At this year's Investforum Pitch-Day we were one of 25 start-ups presenting our products and business idea to more than 200 guests. The subsequent discussions with investors, representatives of other companies and participants from politics, business and science were absolutely motivating, inspiring and invaluable for us. After this successful event we are looking forward to the next steps.
Since 2009, the Investforum Pitch-Day has been organized annually by the Investforum Startup-Service of Univations GmbH on behalf of the Ministry of Economics of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and is considered one of the most important matching events for venture capital in Germany. The main aim is to support Central German startups in the acquisition of capital and to bring them into contact with national and international investors.
This year the Pitch-Day took place on September 23rd at the Mitteldeutsches Multimediazentrum in Halle (Saale).

With our innovation we won the first prize at this year's »IQ Innovation Award Halle« and prevail against our competitors!
The IQ Innovation Awards of Central Germany 2021 were awarded on June 24 during a virtual live event. A total of 140 applications were submitted in various categories and reviewed by several top-class expert juries. The prizes were awarded by the Metropolitan Region of Central Germany in what is now the 17th edition.

The Hugo Junkers Awards 2020 have been given. We achieved second place in the category »Most Innovative Applied Research Projects« with our innovative wound dressings. The innovation awards of the state of Saxony-Anhalt were presented today during a virtual award ceremony. We are pleased and proud that we were able to convince the jury of our product innovation.
The Hugo Junkers Award is given annually by the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitalization of the State of Saxony-Anhalt in the categories »Most Innovative Projects in Basic Research«, »Most Innovative Projects in Applied Research« and »Most Innovative Products, Services and Business Models«. 100 projects applied for the Hugo Junkers Awards 2020.

Team matriheal participated in the Startup Accelerator Program »Biomedical & Life Sciences« of the Technologiepark Weinberg Campus e.V.. In a four-month program tailored to life science startups in the pre-seed and seed phase, relevant competencies from various areas such as business, regulatory affairs and IP law were taught in intensive coaching sessions and workshops.

During a four-day boot camp, the newly founded team matriheal qualified with its spin-off project for a place in the first phase of the Fraunhofer AHEAD program. The Fraunhofer-wide program supports spin-off and licensing projects of the Fraunhofer Institutes through intensive coaching, direct contacts with decision-makers in the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and Fraunhofer-related investors, and financial support for the teams. Funding is provided over four months in the first phase, after which qualification for Phase II is possible.
Update: matriheal has successfully qualified for the second phase of the Fraunhofer funding program »AHEAD« and will be funded for another nine months.
